What I'm Loving Wednesday...

I'm linking up to The Vintage Apple and This Kind of Love on this lovely Wednesday morning!

{I'm loving} my Shellac manicure.

The polish has grown out a bit (and they actually left a teensy bit of space when they painted them, anyway), but that stuff hasn't budged at all! I've heard that getting too many of the Shallac manicures in a row can be damaging to your nailbeds, but I'm hoping that this first one can keep me from messing with them long enough to let them grow out a bit. :)

On that note, {I'm also loving} my Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.

It keeps my cuticles moisturized so that I'm less likely to mess with my nails.  Love.

{I'm loving} that, after the utter failure that was the last run I attempted, I had a fantastic 25-minute run last night (with just one one-minute walk break in the middle).  It's still so incredible to me that I've gone from barely being able to run for a minute at a time to cruising for fifteen minutes before it even occurred to me to take a walk break. (And even then, I only stopped because I worried that I'd run out of steam at the end.  I think I probably could have kept going and been just fine.) I swear, you guys - Couch-to-5K works!

{I'm loving} these things I've pinned recently.

And lastly, but certainly not least, {I'm loving} this guy.

... because he's a lean, mean, fish-catching machine. :)

Do you use the cuticle cream everyday? I have some of that. Did you tell the nail tech that you wanted sparkle on one finger? It's so cute. Don't try to take it off yourself, you will mess up your nails... Been there...

I am in love with Shellac manicures. Shellac manicures and Burt's Bees cuticle cream were the only things that got me to quit my 19 year nail biting habit (embarrassing since I was 24 when I quit biting my nails). OPI avoplex cream is also great!

Also, I've found that I can get several shellac manicures in a row, and it doesn't screw up my nail beds. I think the secret is avoiding picking at the polish, so you don't hurt the nail. A manicurist said the best way for a recovering nail biter/picker to avoid this is to take the shellac off IMMEDIATELY when it starts to chip anywhere. It may not be as cost effective since the shellac doesn't last as long, but it does keep my nails looking nicer and healthier in the long term.
