So I'll just come out and say it. I'm a total blog stalker. I read about this 30-Day Blog Challenge on this blog (which I TOTALLY love!), who apparently found it on this blog. (It's like Six Degrees of Nosy People :)).
I loved the idea of taking this journey with other bloggers, and I decided to jump on the bandwagon. Even if I am three days behind. :)
So here goes.
Day One: Introduction, Recent Picture, Fifteen Interesting Facts
(This is the most recent picture I have, I think. I had just gotten a haircut, and I wasn't sure I liked it. Hence the pensive look on my face.)
Well, for anyone who doesn't already know, my name is Ryan. I'm 25, a recent graduate of law school, married to the love of my life, addicted to diet coke, and in love with all things black and white.
I grew up in a small town about 40 miles northeast of Dallas (I wrote all about it here). I met my husband in seventh grade, and we got married about a year and a half ago. He's a civil engineer, and I'm an attorney (wait - don't stop reading!). I just started working with a litigation firm in Dallas, and I'll be doing mostly patent litigation. We don't have any kids yet, but we do have the cutest chocolate lab mix puppy in the entire universe. :)
So that's me! And here are fifteen random tidbits you probably never wanted to know.
1. I've colored my hair almost every color of the rainbow. It has been brown, blonde, brown AND blonde, almost-black, red, purple (this was a dye job gone VERY bad), pink, and green (from WAAAY too much chlorine).
2. If I was a font, I think I'd be Book Antiqua. Well, actually I'd LIKE to be Book Antiqua. I'm probably something more generic like Arial.
3. I graduated valedictorian of my high school class. Before you start thinking that it's in any way impressive, I should tell you that there were only 83 of us. :)
4. I have a problem with accumulating too much hair product. Here's the evidence.
5. I find out if I passed the bar exam on November 5. You should be expecting either a really jubilant post that day... or SEVERAL days of silence.
6. I've been saved by grace.
7. I love the color green. In fact, it's the accent color for almost every room in our house. I keep trying to branch out, but I fail miserably. I just like what i like.
8. Sometimes, I look at words, and they mean nothing to me. It's happened a few times with the word fork. And then I just repeat the word over and over and over until it comes back to me.
9. My husband is the most handsome man on the planet. Seriously.
10. I love chemistry, and I miss it sometimes.
11. When I was growing up, I had a newt named Newton (clever, right?). One day, he got out of his aquarium and was apparently trying to make it to my brother's bedroom and died midstep. I was too scared to pick him up, so I made my brother do it.
12. Speaking of my brother... when I was a little girl, my friend Lindsey and I convinced my brother and her brother (who were also good friends) to build us a lemonade stand. So they got the wood and put it together, and we set up shop and started selling it. A few hours after we got started, the Wylie Newspaper stopped by to take our picture and put a story in the paper. We didn't let our brothers in the picture, and didn't say a word about them to the reporter. Oops!
13. I have a tattoo on my right foot. It's a butterfly, and it's one of the most "rebellious" things I've ever done.
14. I love to read. When people ask me if I have a hobby, reading is the only thing that ever comes to mind. But then I feel lame and say something cooler instead.
15. I love Harry Potter and the idea of magic.
