Project Scripture...

Alright, y'all, I am SO excited about this! I hope you guys are too. 

Here's the list of verses I'm planning on memorizing in 2012.  I mostly picked verses that were relatively short so they'd fit on my board (which you can see how I made here), plus, I figured they'd be easier to memorize, too! And I tried to get all the hit all the "key" verses, but feel free to shout out any that I missed and absolutely must memorize this year. :) 

(And note that I didn't pick any one translation to use.  For each verse, I tried to pick the translation I had heard used most often for that verse.  But obviously feel free to pick whatever translation you like best.)

Week One: January 1 - January 7
Psalm 119:105  “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Week Two:  January 8 - January 14
2 Timothy 3:16  "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness." 

Week Three:  January 15 - January 21
Psalm 119:11  "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." 

Week Four:  January 22 - January 28
Psalm 118:1  "Give thanks to the Lord, for his is good; his love endures forever."

Week Five:  January 29 - Feburary 4
Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen." 

Week Six:  February 5 - February 11

Week Seven:  February 12 - Feburary 18

Psalm 124:8  "Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."

Week Ten:  March 4 - March 10

Week Forty-Eight:  November 25 - December 1
1 John 4:18  "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear."

Proverbs 18:10  "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." 

Week Fifty:  December 9 - December 15
Numbers 6:24-26  "The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." 

Week Fifty-One:  December 16 - December 22
Phillipians 1:16  "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." 

Week Fifty-Two:  December 23 - December 29
1 Timothy 6:12  "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called."

So that's it!  Totally doable, right? :)

Memorizing scripture is something I have always wanted to do and I think this is the best way to start!

I know I am late but would love to join you in memorizing so I will try and get caught up since Beth Moore isn't doing hers this year I went searching and I found your blog:) I am gonna do the same exact verses you are doing!!!! My 7 year old is doing it with me so should be really fun seeing it through a child:)
