Find your strong...

After unintentionally taking a few days off from running, we got back on track (pun definitely intended) last night.

And I'm not gonna lie... it sucked.

I was working really hard to find my strong but still couldn't quite finish the three-minute running sections of the workout, even though I had been able to the last time I ran.  It was an important reminder that, for me, consistency is important.  Because when I take a few (or five) days off and remember how blissful laziness feels, I have absolutely no desire to put on my running shoes again.  And the longer I go between workouts, the higher the chance that I'll just give up completely.  Again.

But thankfully I made myself put my shoes on and take the first step out the door last night.  And, believe me, it definitely sucked.  But I finished.  And I feel certain that it'll suck at least a tiny bit less tomorrow, and that is what's keeping me going.

If there's anyone else feeling defeated or tired or ashamed for having given up yet again, remember that every day is a new day.  Every morning brings a new opportunity for us to find our strong.  And when we can't find it, we can always rely upon His. :)

Ryan, thanks for posting this on facebook for me to find! Although I'm pregnant and every ounce of attractiveness (and energy) has left my body I still feel the need to exercise as much as possible. Reading this actually helped me a lot this morning! I'm glad I stumbled across it. Now I'm gonna go get back on track, too :)

Hey Katie! And I totally beg to differ - you are GORGEOUS pregnant. I swear to goodness, I actually showed one of your precious belly pictures from Facebok to Micah the other day, saying "isn't Katie SO precious pregnant?!" That's a true story. :)

And I'm going to let your desire to continue working out even while pregnant motivate me - I don't have any excuse! :)

I was having a hard time with C25k. I live in NC and it's cold most days here lately, I don't have a treadmill and I don't want to run outside in the cold all the time. SO...I did put excuses aside and have been doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD. It's tough, but so worth it in the end!

What I was trying to say also, and forgot was....Great job! and keep up the great work! Ha. :)

Yeah, Crystal, I'm thinking of getting a treadmill to have an alternative to running in the cold. (Although Dallas doesn't really get very cold anyway, so I'm probably being a wimp. :))

I've heard a lot of people say that they really like the 30-Day Shred. I'm so glad you're loving it! And thanks so much for the encouragement. It's hard, but I totally agree with you - it's so worth it in the end!
