A weekend of baby bunnies, Pinterest, family, and Gotye...

My weekend consisted of:

1) Finding a rabbit's nest in a hole in our yard after Micah ran over it with the lawn mower and all the fur the mama rabbit used to cover up the nest went flying everywhere!  (Don't worry - all the bunnies were fine! Mama buried them in there nice and deep! :))  They were so, so cute, y'all.

This little guy got brave and hopped out of the hole, so we had to chase him down and put him back where he belonged.  We were worried the mama might reject them if she smelled us around the nest, so we arranged some twigs on top of the nest so that we would be able to tell if she had come back to feed them. When we checked the nest the next morning, she had definitely come back and had arranged the nest again (with fresh fur! :)).  Thank goodness, because we weren't quite sure what we were going to do with four baby bunnies...

2.  Trying SEVERAL new Pinterest recipes.  I've got a whole post on one of them coming up, but here are the others:

25-calorie pudding pops via

banana bread pancakes via

The pudding pops were definitely fun and pretty darned tasty, but the dixie cup molds left a little to be desired.  They were just too big to be able to eat them with any semblance of grace.  I think I'll probably make them again, but I'll buy a popsicle mold next time.

But the banana bread pancakes?  I cannot even express to you how delicious these things were.  I pinned them relatively recently (without realizing I had already pinned them a few months back), and I haven't been able to get them out of my mind.  So we decided to have a cheat night, and I indulged without a speck of guilt.  I substituted milk in for the maple syrup, so we ended up with more of a vanilla glaze (with a dash on cinnamon - yum!) instead of syrup.  And don't be alarmed that the batter is super thick.  That's just how they're supposed to be!  You'll need to keep your burner no higher than medium heat, though, or you'll end up with uncooked batter in the middle.

Bottom line - make these at your earliest convenience.  They're worth the calories. :)

3.  Spending some time with family.

My dad and stepmom were watching Stella on Friday night, so we went over there and loved on the little princess.

I had brunch with my sweet Momma and Mimi on Saturday (and convinced the waiter to take our picture).

Love them.

We had lunch at my mom's yesterday and managed to squeeze in even more Stella time.

She may love her Uncle Micah just a little bit... :)

4.  Listening to Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye on repeat.

This song sounds like really good 80's music to me (maybe a little The Outfield-ish?), and the lyrics just hit me somewhere in the gut every time I listen to it.  If you haven't heard it, check it out here (or below).  And (1) give it until at least 1:40 before you decide it's too weird... the chorus is magic, and the second verse with Kimbra is so good, and (2) please, please, please ignore the weird music video.  I don't get it at all, and it freaks me out.

And that was about it for us! What did you guys do this weekend?

I have been in love with that Gotye song for a month! I heard someone refer to the sound as a little reminiscent of Sting and the Police. And those banana bread pancakes sound (and look) *amazing*! I'm finding the recipe :).
